FAQ

Cycling jersey sizing FAQ

A road cycling jersey should fit snugly, close to the body, without being tight enough to restrict breathing. It should not flap in the wind or ride up when you lean forward on the bars. If you want a race fit, choose the size that matches your chest exactly; if you prefer a relaxed club fit, size up by one.

Wrap a soft tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your armpits and across your shoulder blades, keeping the tape level and snug but not tight. Measure over a thin base layer or bare skin, not over a jacket. That single number is what this size chart uses.

Cycling jerseys usually run smaller than everyday casual clothing because they are cut for an aerodynamic, close fit. Many riders take one size larger in a cycling jersey than they would in a normal t-shirt. Always check the brand chest measurement rather than relying on your usual t-shirt size.

Race fit (also called pro or aero fit) is tight and body-hugging to cut drag and is sized to your exact chest. Club fit (also called classic or relaxed) leaves a little more room and is more forgiving over a base layer or a fuller midsection. If you are between the two, size up for club fit and down for race fit.

If your chest falls right on the boundary between two sizes, size down for a tight race fit and up for a comfortable all-day fit. Consider your belly and back as well as your chest: if you carry a little extra around the middle or want room for a base layer in winter, size up.

No. This chart is based on a mens or unisex cut, which is straighter through the waist. Womens jerseys are cut for a narrower shoulder, shorter torso and shaped waist, and use their own size chart based on bust and waist. If you are buying a womens jersey, use the brand womens chart instead.
